Renewing an Adult Passport (UK)
To travel abroad from the UK, you will need to make sure that your passport is in date. If it is not, you will need to renew it. To renew an adult passport, you will need to pay £72.50. You can do this via card payment – or, if you wish to get your new passport through the post office, you can pay in cash. Once you have filled out the paperwork for your new passport, you should receive it within one month. If you are unsure where your new passport is, you can track it online.
You don’t have to wait for your passport to expire, you can renew it at any time. Any remaining time left on your old document will be transferred onto your new one. You may want to renew for a number of reasons. For example, your passport may be damaged by water or general wear and tear.
